Body and trim: Grand Sport, Stingray, Z06

A rear upper control arm on a 2014 to 2019 Corvette is a vital component of the vehicle's rear suspension system. The C7 Corvette (seventh-generation Corvette produced between 2014 and 2019) continues to use an independent rear suspension (IRS) design, similar to the C5 and C6 Corvettes.

The rear upper control arm is a metal linkage that connects the rear wheel hub assembly to the vehicle's chassis or subframe. It is one of the four control arms (two upper and two lower) in the rear suspension that helps maintain the wheel's proper alignment, stability, and movement relative to the car's body.

The rear upper control arm works in conjunction with the lower control arm, coil springs, and shock absorbers to control the wheel's vertical movement and maintain the desired camber, caster, and toe angles. It also helps in reducing body roll and transferring the forces from the wheel to the chassis during acceleration, braking, and cornering.

Over time, the bushings and ball joints in the control arm can wear out or become damaged, affecting the vehicle's handling and ride quality. In such cases, the control arm may need to be replaced or serviced to restore the suspension system's performance.
