The C6 Corvette Trunk Lid Pull Down Motor (GM part number 16889150) is a specialized component designed to properly close and secure latch the trunk lid on C6 Corvette models. This motorized mechanism assists in pulling down the trunk lid smoothly and securely after it has been closed, providing a tight seal and preventing accidental openings while driving. It offers added convenience by eliminating the need to slam the trunk shut, which helps preserve the integrity of the trunk and its components. Additionally, the motor maintains the aerodynamic efficiency of the Corvette by keeping the trunk lid flush with the rest of the car's body, reducing drag and potential noise from wind resistance. Common reasons for purchasing a new motor include cracked housing, motor failure, and switch malfunctions. This new motor addresses these issues, restoring the trunk's functionality and reliability.
