C4 Used Rear Wheel Spindle Lower Control Rod 1984-1996

A Rear Wheel Spindle Lower Control Rod, also known as a lower control arm or trailing arm, on a 1984 to 1996 Corvette is a key component of the rear suspension system. These Corvette models are part of the C4 generation, which features an independent rear suspension (IRS) for improved handling, ride quality, and overall performance.

The rear wheel spindle lower control rod serves to connect the rear wheel hub and spindle assembly to the vehicle's chassis or frame. It helps maintain proper wheel alignment, stability, and control while driving. The lower control rod usually features bushings on one end that attach to the vehicle's chassis, and a ball joint or knuckle on the other end that connects to the wheel hub and spindle assembly. This design allows for smooth articulation and movement as the suspension responds to road conditions and driving inputs.

Over time, the rear wheel spindle lower control rod's bushings or ball joint may wear out or fail, causing issues such as poor handling, uneven tire wear, and even potential loss of control. Replacing a worn or damaged rear wheel spindle lower control rod is essential to maintaining the performance and safety of your 1984 to 1996 Corvette. Regular inspection and maintenance of the suspension components, including the rear wheel spindle lower control rods, can help ensure the proper functioning of your vehicle's suspension system.
